Every story starts with History, so let’s start there.
I was born in the Philippines under unfortunate circumstances, but those circumstances brought me to where I am and created the woman I am today. I was born without a father, but I was raised by beautiful, strong, resilient, independent and powerful women in my life.
Four years down the road after birth, I was blessed with a father who molded me into who I wanted to be, what I wanted to give to the world and what I wanted to leave on this planet and in people’s lives, that man, my father was Robert John Blundon. He passed away May 2020. He is missed and cherished every day and that is how we came to be, RJB (Robert John Blundon) Marketing & Brand Management Inc.
I always wanted to be the master of my own life, create and do things that filled my soul, turn my unfortunate circumstance into beautiful and successful opportunities and have no one tell me otherwise. I wanted to give the world a space to be strong, loud and a place to be heard, I wanted to leave inspiring ideas and people who could have impactful conversations that changes the world for the better and I wanted to leave an impact that changed people’s paths towards happiness and to chose themselves. My father, RJB allowed me to do exactly that. Nothing was unattainable, nothing was unachievable, the heavens were not a limit and his love and support never wavered and today that is exactly what I want to be for everyone I work with!
No idea, no message, no creative creation is unachievable. Your voice will be heard, your message will be delivered, the people you want to surround yourself with will be reached, you will create a space, a product, an adventure, an event, a service with love and support that will never waver. I am a raised Yukoner who chose to get her Bachelor of Business Administration from Capilano University School of Business on the traditional səl̓ ilwətaɁɬ nation in North Vancouver, BC. After my first year, and failing every accounting course, I chose to specialize in Marketing, so you could say I chose to turn my unfortunate circumstance into a different opportunity and that was excel in something that didn’t involve math.
While at Capilano and living in Vancouver, I had a hard time making friends, again unfortunate circumstance, so I joined every club involved in business marketing, because if I was part of those clubs, they had to talk to me and eventually be my friend, right? Well, again that circumstance turned out to be beautiful and a wonderful opportunity. I made friends enough that when they got married, I was invited to their wedding, and I also became part of some amazing projects and teams and perfected my skills in marketing outside the classroom.
I have over seven years’ experience with the non-profit sector with large organizations in British Columbia including United Way, Free the Children, We Day Vancouver and The Feast Vancouver as well as local Yukon organizations; Every Student Every Day, The Yukon Imagination Library and Sport Yukon.
After university and a terrible breakup (unfortunate circumstance), I moved back to the Yukon, out of my then boyfriends’ parents basement and got my first job in marketing at a brewery! I was immersed in one of Yukon’s largest economies, tourism. I created a wonderful network of smart, hardworking, talented people in marketing. I was like a sponge and soaked in every lesson I learned and I was back home with support from all my friends, family and my dad!
Fast forward to 2020, COVID-19 (unfortunate circumstance), I chose to take a leap in my career and joined a Project Management Company that worked in Yukon’s largest economy; mining. Mining involved a lot of travel, and I was excited, but then the world shut down and there was no travel, so no network marketing for me. I was tested in more ways than one to find innovative and creative solutions, but it allowed me to be a part of many projects in social media & digital marketing (the world was closed and the only way to communicate was through the internet). During this time I gained project management experience, allowing me to expand and grow companies, events, services, and brands and while the world was shut down I was able to connect locally and globally. Being in marketing allowed me to find and create competitive advantages through innovative attraction initiatives, social media, advertising, communications and strategic marketing.
After all the moves, the friends, the breakups and covid, I am now here – on my own, but not on my own, because every move, every friend, every love, every breakup, every loss, every new chapter and even covid, all these circumstances brought me the people, the inspiration and the tools to work for myself and create RJB Marketing & Brand Management. This new place, this new company, this jump is where I will create, lead, grow and to turn every circumstance into a beautiful, strong and powerful opportunity.
